That's why I created a streamlined, intensive, fully online program tailored for the busy adult learner. Our Training Format Consists of Three Parts
Asynchronous Learning
- Over 50 hours of engaging video content covering all aspects of health & wellness coaching in alignment with the NBHWC Content Outline.
- 25+ hours of in-depth videos covering topics that are truly at the heart of health & wellness coaching, including coaching structure, coaching process, legal & ethics, scope of practice, coaching psychology, key coaching skills, client goals, collaboration opportunities and the coach approach to health and wellness. In addition, the concepts within Motivational Interviewing and the Transtheoretical Model of Change (Stages of Change) are discussed in detail.
- A library with 27+ hours of informative and insightful content covering health and wellness topics. These convenient, on-demand modules include topics like nutrition, chronic disease, healthy behaviors, health assessments, stress related health issues, anatomy and physiology.
- Over 100 downloadable documents to support your learning such as worksheets, client handouts, templates, charts, checklists and links for additional learning.
Mentored Skill Development
- Practical Skills Assessments give you the opportunity to put your coaching skills into action! You’ll have 4 opportunities to practice coaching, both during our live group calls and in a private setting with a board certified facilitator and one other coach. Not only will you receive detailed feedback from faculty, but from your fellow coaches, which will give you multiple perspectives. You will also have an opportunity to play the client, which is invaluable in understanding how to coach. This tailored approach illuminating your strengths and growth opportunities will ensure your ability to transform your clients’ lives and provide you with the important step for completing board certification requirements
Live Group Sessions
- To build upon the recorded content and support documents, we offer live group sessions. Twelve weeks of interactive learning - instruction, break out rooms, skills practice and group discussions. This safe space will allow you to hone your coaching skills while being supported by our expert instructors. We keep the cohorts small, so you feel comfortable, get to know one another and support each other throughout the program.

Requirements To Sit For The NBHWC Coaching Board
- Complete the IHIS Health & Wellness Coaching Program
- Pass your Practical Skills Assessment (within the program)
- Complete 50 logged 20+min coaching sessions
- Have any associate degree or two years of work experience in any field

Our program includes instruction from faculty with a variety of backgrounds. You’ll hear from Board Certified Health & Wellness Coaches, Registered Nurses, Medical Doctors, Family Nurse Practitioners, Naturopathic Doctors, Licensed Professional Counselors and more!
Yes! A certificate of completion will be provided upon successfully graduating from the program. This certificate will qualify you to sit for the NBHWC exam if you would like, which upon passing, would give you the designation of Nationally Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC).
The certificate of completion from our program would be proof that you studied and have a level of knowledge in the area of health and wellness coaching from a board approved program. You can display this and share with clients or potential clients anywhere in the world.
